One day several months ago, approximately 5 minutes after the warranty was up, the XBox decided it was done. We put a disc in, and it would immediately spit it out again. Even without a disc, the drive tray just did not want to stay closed. I was way too busy to deal with it at the time so all summer long the XBox sat alone and cold on the kitchen table, mocking me. Well last night I decided to roll up my sleeves and take it to school. I am kicking myself now for not taking pictures all along the incredible journey of disassembling it, but long story short, I did in fact make it my b***h in the end. :) So here is the one picture that I took at the end of the whole process so you will just have to use your imagination. Just 30 minutes prior to this picture, this innocent looking machine was in no less than 10 pieces (I didn't get an exact count. Again, I failed as a photojournalist, I'M SORRY). And let me tell you, the XBox 360 is like freaking FORT KNOX. I dare you to try and take this thing apart if you have one. Anyway, the problem ended up being this little itty bitty magnet inside the DVD drive had broken off and was stuck to the top of the drive. So I glued it back on and put the whole thing back together and we are back in business. I am a genius. Thank you very much.
